Taekwondo is a dynamic Olympic sport in which practitioners use fast powerful kicks to outscore their opponents. JVK Taekwondo is an institution dedicated to providing our students with the best Taekwondo instruction available. JVK is a modern and progressive school, which provides instruction in the techniques and strategies of Olympic Taekwondo only. We do not practise the traditional forms (poomse). Our instructors take pride in the technical excellence of our students, as well as improvements in both their physical and mental fitness. We set the highest standards for Taekwondo excellence in Atlantic Canada and fully expect our students to meet those goals. As you will learn, our students are not only expected to become proficient in Taekwondo but also must behave as good citizens, obtain excellent grades in school and be respectful to their parents and other students in the class. We are confident you will find the instructors, students, parents and overall atmosphere within our dojang to be a positive and rewarding experience.

JVK Taekwondo offers classes for children as young as four years old. Discipline and physical conditioning are developed in a fun and exciting environment.	JVK Taekwondo has helped hundreds of children and adults reach new goals.

Professional Affiliations

The World Taekwondo Federation

The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) is the governing body for Taekwondo worldwide. Taekwondo is now a full-medal sport at the Olympic and Pan-Am games, and only blackbelts who have received a Kukkiwon certificate from the World Taekwondo headquarters are eligible to instruct the techniques of the WTF, or to compete at these events. All blackbelts at JVK Taekwondo are certified by the WTF, and are eligible to compete for the Canadian national, junior national and Olympic teams.

Taekwondo New Brunswick (TKDNB)

Students must be a member of TKDNB, which is the official governing body for Taekwondo in this province. Membership provides both accident and liability insurance and is a requirement for many events. The TKDNB membership form must be completed and fee paid before training is allowed in our school. Grandmaster Chong Soo Lee JVK Taekwondo is directly supported by Grand Master Chong Lee, a 9th Dan Black belt who has trained in Taekwondo for over 59 yrs. Grand Master Lee, who is the highest ranking Black Belt in Canada, introduced Taekwondo to this country in 1964 and has consistently produced the best competitors in Canada during the past 42 yrs. He has produced over 100 National Champions, 9 Pan American Champions, and 4 World Champions. Grand Master Lee has over 140 schools under his tutelage, and conducts all black belt tests at JVK Taekwondo.
